Maybe is not the right adapter. Fyi the overwhelming majority 9f ppl searching this title will be trying to do this as they watch. Taking 2 fucking minutes to get to the part we are waiting for was a terrible idea. For mine, I just open the bike pin and stick it into the ball I want to fill and presto, I can pump up a ball. Try the video I posted under this user. It is the same but I corrected the audio. My advice is to not buy any pump of this kind.
I have one and it failed after about two years of occasional use. Sorry folks, I dont know the answer to this one. I am pretty sure air comes out of both on my pump. You are a genius! I had struggled for 15 minutes before I did a search. The Schwinn site contained 23 highly critical comments. One mentioned a youtube video. Thanks for posting this! I have had this pump for a year and have never been able to figure out how to use it despite asking several friends to help me figure it out.
It took me an hour to figure it out sigh but it does the trick. No instruction on how make the holes on your frame to attach the pump. Drilling holes in the frame is not as easy as it seems most people will feel hesitant about doing this.
I just shot mine 6 times with my 38cal. I had tried for 4 hrs, to go to the website, and watch some videos and still couldnt figure the d am n thing out! I just HAVE to know, how in the hell did you figure that thing out?
I am very mechanically inclined and it totally left me mad and frustrated! I figured that since I bought mine at walmart, someone had taken some of the parts and mine didnt work because of that. I didnt shoot the thing but once, missed the rest and sure enough all the parts were there, I had to get a stick to pull out the rubber thingy, though. I made my first solo-pump happen thanks to this vid. The piece which connects to the presta valve which came with the pump is unfortunately garbage though.
I will have to replace that. Actually I am confused still on the bronze valve. When you put the bronze piece in the rubber piece and then back into the nozzle the outer cap cannot fit back on. So when you try to pump the pieces just fly out.
This only works if you have holes already in the frame. I tried to re-upload it but it said the program I have uses a different codec than you-tube uses. This video was useless! Very informative, thanks. Easy to do once you know how. This is why I love YouTube. The world makes sense again! Now I can enjoy the first sunny bikable day at 5 celsius!
Thank you SO much for this video! Much easier to send her a video than to try and explain! Thanks for the video. I have a Schwinn pump that is for both valve systems but it failed to give instructions. When checking out Parktool. I was about to trash the darn pump right after I bought it! I could hear you O. Thanks again! All those damn concerts with my head in the PA….. I should have known it would catch up to me some day…. The new version of the product with the psi meter was great.
Many thanks. Flip the plastic piece the other way around, put everything back in and voila, you got yourself a pump with a presta head.
Thank you, you saved my time. I thought I need to return the pump. Thanks, really helped. Took an hr of frustration to try to figure out how to get it to pump Presta valves. Then watched this video, and figured it out inn 5 mins. Is there any danger of the 2 dissimilar metals binding to each other during the pumping operation?
Thank you kindly for the great explanation. That valve adaptor is bullshit, no other pump needs a proprietary part to inflate a tire. One more way to gouge a little more profit out. Why would that locking valve coupler work backwards from all others? Most other pump valve couplers are locked on the when the lever is pressed down not pulled up inline with the tire valve. Many thanks! Always had to find a gas station pump for the Shcrader valve.
Thank you so much!!!!!! Could not work out how to change the valve……brilliant…. And which interface Presta side or Schrader will work for Woods valve? Just hate these fiicking valves!! Just the video I was needing. Tube on rear wheel leaked from bottom of rubber valve. Replaced tube with new one which has a presta valve.
Turn the center portion of the pump nozzle to swing the inflation needle out of the socket in the pump body. Swing the needle out degrees. Moisten the inflation needle and insert the needle into the rubber friction valve on the inflatable sports equipment. Pull the pump handle out and pump the item up to pressure. Remove the pump needle from the valve and rotate the needle back into the pump handle's slot.
When Schwinn 4-in-1 pumps malfunction, air escapes when connected to tires or pumps out through the wrong nozzle. To correct this, switch to needle mode and use the back pressure of an inflated sports ball to seat the internal valve, according to Switchblade Nozzles' troubleshooting section. After inserting the needle, set the ball on a hard surface and press sharply down on the ball three times to free the valve.
The small diameter and short stroke of this pump makes inflating a large item like a car tire time-consuming and difficult. Always thread the locking nut of a Presta valve back to its base before replacing the valve cap. Fitness Training Cycling. James Young.
