Tim hudson injury update

Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson suffered a brutal injury on Wednesday night in a game against the New York Mets and needed to be carted off the field. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Mets left fielder Eric Young Jr. Young tried to beat the throw from Freeman and ended up stepping on Hudson's ankle during his last stride.

Hudson caught the ball for the out but fell to the ground and started writhing in pain. The year-old righty had to be taken off the field after throwing 7. The Braves went on to win The team's official Twitter account later posted an update on Hudson's status.

Young, who rushed over to check on Hudson after he was called out, was asked about the play after the game. The talented righthander had Tommy John surgery last June, but was right on the cusp of being ready to return to the majors even before the Hudson injury.

Before the injury, Beachy had a nifty 2. In his 41 career starts, he has a 3. Of course, those numbers don't necessarily mean much right now. The process of coming back from Tommy John surgery doesn't end when a pitcher reaches the majors again. It's an ongoing situation, and the Braves and Beachy are well aware of this fact. A few weeks ago, the Braves were facing a dilemma. Who would get knocked out of the rotation when Beachy returned? That's not the problem now. Mike Minor 2.

Rookie lefty Alex Wood has taken his place; he started Tuesday afternoon's game against the Mets. Because the Hudson injury happened before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, the Braves could explore the possibility of bringing in outside rotation help.

The problem is, with Matt Garza already off the market the Rangers snapped him up , there aren't any great options out there. Cliff Lee is the pipe dream, but the Phillies probably aren't going to trade him, and they definitely aren't going to move him to a division rival. So what else? Young was clearly upset as he shook hands with Hudson before the pitcher was carted off the field.

He said there was nothing I can do about it. Hudson's injury is a significant blow to the National League East leaders. The year-old is with a 3. Everybody in here feels bad for him. Atlanta has at least one internal option to replace Hudson.
